This Privacy Policy explains how YANTROLOK PRIVATE LIMITED ("Yantrolok", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use Connect AI, our business card scanning and contact management application.

Connect AI is designed with a privacy-first approach. Its core card scanning, OCR, parsing, storage, and review workflows are intended to work locally on the user's device.

Business card scanning and parsing are designed to run on-device.

Account required

No mandatory user account is required to use the app's core features.

Advertising

Connect AI does not display third-party advertising.

User control

Users can review, edit, export, share, or delete saved card information.

1. Information the app may handle

Depending on how you use Connect AI, the app may handle the following information:

  • Images of business cards captured with the camera or selected from your device.
  • Text extracted from card images, such as name, designation, company, email address, phone number, website, LinkedIn URL, address, industry, notes, and related contact information.
  • Your own profile card information, QR code content, profile photo, and linked business details if you choose to create a digital card inside the app.
  • App configuration choices, review flags, issue notes, importance labels, and export/share actions performed by you.
  • Purchase and entitlement information required to support Google Play billing for paid upgrades or lifetime unlocks, if you choose to purchase them.

2. How information is used

We use the information handled by Connect AI only to provide the app's functionality, including:

  • Capturing and processing card images.
  • Extracting and organizing contact information.
  • Allowing you to review, edit, save, search, export, share, and manage your stored business cards.
  • Generating your own QR-based contact sharing card if you choose to use that feature.
  • Managing upgrade status or paid entitlements through Google Play where applicable.

3. On-device and local storage behavior

Connect AI is built as a privacy-first app. Business card images, extracted contact information, and related metadata are intended to be stored locally on your device unless you explicitly export or share them.

If you choose to export or share a contact, CSV file, QR code, or card image, that action is initiated by you and the data is transferred only through the destination or app you choose.

4. Permissions

Connect AI may request device permissions such as:

  • Camera: to capture business card images and scan QR codes.
  • Photos / media / file access: to let you import card images, save outputs, or attach your own card or profile image.
  • Network access, if present: to support Google Play purchase verification, updates, or any optional connected feature that you choose to use.

Permissions are used only for the app features they support.

5. AI-assisted features

Connect AI may offer optional AI-assisted review or parsing support to help improve extracted card details. These features are intended to assist the user in validating and correcting OCR results. Users remain in control of whether to save, edit, or discard the extracted information.

6. Third-party services

Depending on the build and features enabled, Connect AI may interact with the following third-party services:

  • Google Play Billing: for handling in-app purchases or lifetime upgrade purchases.
  • Android / Google platform services: for app distribution, updates, and security-related platform support.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your card data for third-party advertising.

7. Data sharing

We do not share your stored business card data with third parties except in the following limited situations:

  • When you explicitly export, share, or submit data using a feature inside the app.
  • When a purchase or entitlement is processed through Google Play.
  • When required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request.

8. Data retention and deletion

Card data saved in Connect AI remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app, subject to your device's own backup behavior. You can review and delete saved cards from within the app. If you uninstall the app, locally stored data may be removed from the device, except where your operating system or backup service has preserved a copy.

9. Children's privacy

Connect AI is intended for general professional and business use and is not designed for children.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to design the app in a way that reduces unnecessary data exposure, including using on-device workflows where possible. However, no device, software environment, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
