1. Information processed on your device
Focus Builder processes the list of launcher-visible installed apps so you can choose which apps to block. Selected app package names, focus-session history, saved focus profiles, schedules, and preferences are stored locally on your device.
Foreground app package names and window-change events are processed locally to decide whether to display a blocking surface for an app you selected. They are not uploaded to Yantrolok.
2. How information is used
Local information is used to run timers and schedules, remember your chosen distractions and profiles, show recent focus history, and display blocking screens. The current app does not require an account and has no advertising, cloud analytics, remote AI processing, or in-app purchases.
The app does not read contacts, location, camera images, messages, typed text, passwords, or content inside other apps.
3. Optional Android permissions
- Usage Access: detects foreground app activity for blocking the apps you selected.
- Display over other apps: covers a selected app with a blocking screen.
- Accessibility Service: optionally detects foreground window-change events and app package names solely to block apps you chose. It does not retrieve screen content or accessibility node trees. This is not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities. An in-app disclosure and consent step appears before you enable the service in Android settings.
- Notifications and foreground monitoring: show the status of the optional monitoring service and blocking reminders.
- Restart recovery: may remind you to resume monitoring after a device restart; Android settings can affect this behavior.
You decide whether to enable these permissions and can revoke them in Android settings. Declining permissions may limit blocking, but does not require sharing data. A focus commitment does not prevent permission changes, force-stop, or uninstall.
4. Data sharing and third-party services
The current app does not transmit your focus history, app selections, profiles, schedules, or preferences to Yantrolok or third parties. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.
Google Play and Android may separately process information for app distribution, updates, and device security under their own policies. This does not give Yantrolok access to your local focus history or the content of other apps.
5. Retention and deletion
Local app data stays on your device until you remove it. Use Clear history in Focus to remove completed-session history. An active session remains until it ends or you clear the app's storage.
To remove all preferences, profiles, schedules, and focus history, open Android Settings > Apps > Focus Builder > Storage > Clear storage, or uninstall the app. Menu names may vary by device. Focus Builder disables Android cloud backup for its app data.
6. Children and families
Focus Builder is intended for users aged 10 and above, including families. The current app does not collect personal information from children through accounts, advertising, tracking, or cloud services.
Parents or guardians should help younger users understand blocking permissions and choose suitable session durations. Please do not send children's personal information in support emails.
7. Support emails and website visits
If you email info@yantrolok.com, Yantrolok receives your email address and the information you choose to include so we can respond. Please avoid passwords, sensitive screenshots, and unnecessary personal information. Contact the same address to ask about removal of your support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations.
Opening an external link uses your browser. The website and hosting provider may process information needed to serve a web request. Website processing is separate from the local Android app; this policy page does not load Yantrolok's client-side analytics tracker.
8. Security
On-device processing reduces unnecessary transfer of app information. The security of local data also depends on your device, screen lock, operating system, and any access you grant to others. No software or device can be guaranteed completely secure.
9. Changes to this policy
If Focus Builder's data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date and provide any required notices or consent steps. Future features are not covered until they are introduced with an updated policy.
